Spurl.net, a Iceland based search engine company, was bought by Ja.is. Ja (means yes in Icelandic) owns and publishes both the online and the offline national telephone book and by this is most likely moving on the local search engine market.

Japanese blog and SNS users to nearly doubled in 6 months

The Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications has announced the number of Blog and SNS registrations as of March 31, 2006. The numbers are the total memberships of 53 blog companies and 21 SNS companies.
