The conference was full of motivated people and interestingly enough more and more people have tried search. In fact in a survey conducted during the conference the attendants were asked what type of webmarketing activities they are currently working with. About 70% of the audience conducted search related marketing (both paid and organic). This was by far the most used marketing method.
This conference attracted more business developers than ever so it is interresting to see that these people are now interrested to exlplore the web and its possibilities more and attend theese conferences.
Many people in the audience expressed their unhappiness with their SEO suppliers and wanted to learn more about search to understand why they don’t perform and also how they could stay in control and stay away from spam. The searchdebate answered questions specifically on what is considered to be spam and what to do when you see someone spamming the search engines.
People also expressed concerns about Googles premium position in the market and wanted to know if there are any new search engines that are moving into the area. The panel didnt see any major search engines enetring the area but informed the audience about new areas of search like blog indexes or sub categories within the bigger search engines, like Yahoo news etc.
Besides search the speakers at the conference focused on communities, content management, mobile marketing, direct marketing and blogging.
On the site: http://www.webbdagarna.se there will soon be a video of the conference and also it will be possible to receive the presentations (all in Swedish)

Great info Sara. “Many people in the audience expressed their unhappiness with their SEO suppliers and wanted to learn more about search to understand why they don’t perform and also how they could stay in control and stay away from spam. ” I think SEO suppliers should be educating their customers better so they don’t have these issues. Of course if the SEO supplier is spamming the search engines they wouldn’t want their client to know.
